Amadeus, STA Travel extend global agreement
Amadeus and STA Travel have signed a long-term extension to their content agreement.
Under the new agreement, 29 STA Travel markets will use the Amadeus distribution system to access travel content, and Amadeus had also developed a custom built e-ticketing solution for the student travel company.
The new deal covers several Asia Pacific countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and the US.
“We are pleased to extend this successful partnership as we continue to access some of the best content in the market. With its global reach, and local content, Amadeus is a partner that understands our challenges and is well equipped to support us in our business objectives. Going forward, we will look to collaborate further with Amadeus to be able to adapt to the ever changing needs of our customers,” said Peter Liney, CEO of STA Travel.
David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific added; “Asia continues to boom as a travel hotspot, both for business and leisure travellers, particularly Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore and this global partnership will ensure STA can make full use of Amadeus’s on-going investment in technology, providing access to cutting edge solutions that are leading the way across Asia Pacific. We are proud to continue supporting STA Travel’s positive impact on the travel industry.”
