With significant growth in 2011, Amadues Gulf is looking to diversify its presence in the region. As part of the plans, Amadeus is set to open doors to a new office in Dubai and relocate its operations to a larger, more modern premise within the heart of Abu Dhabi.
The company has witnessed over 10% growth in the number of terminals in the region since 2010.
A number of leading travel agents from the region including Omeir Travel, Abu Dhabi Travel Bureau (ATB) and Al Jaber in Abu Dhabi, Khimji’s House of Travel, Eihab Travel and Al Hashar Travel in Oman and Al Futtaim Travel in Dubai have recently signed agreements with Amadeus, appointing them as their technology partner of choice to further highlight Amadeus’ growing presence in the region.
Humayun Baig, regional market manager, Middle East and North Africa, Amadeus, said: “The travel vertical is one domain where change is taking place at a fast pace. Our expansion and growth into these markets perfectly complements the advancement that the travel and tourism sector is witnessing in the region.”
Recognizing the increasing need to educate the industry and contribute to its development, Amadeus Gulf has been providing training to travel professionals. Over 150 sessions were conducted for 1,071 students in 2011 with numbers expected to increase by 10-15% in 2012.
