Inner Sea Discoveries and American Safari Cruises have inaugurated two new vessels into their UN-Cruise Adventures fleet.
Both of the ships have been extensively renovated, with the Safari Endeavour carrying 86 passengers at a time and the Wilderness Explorer with 76 passengers. They will operate cruises along Alaska’s Inside Passage from May through August 2012.
Both ships were welcomed to the fleet with a traditional maritime christening ceremony at the company’s Seattle office at Fisherman’s terminal last Friday. CEO and Principal Dan Blanchard presented Safari Endeavour’s captain Jill Russell and Wilderness Explorer’s captain Marce Branniff with an evergreen branch symbolising dry land and a safe return home.
Safari Endeavour godmother, Birmingham travel agent Margaret Propper and Wilderness Explorer godmother, InnerSea Discoveries sales counsellor, Linda Reist, broke a champagne bottle against the vessels’ hulls for good luck and safe voyage.
