Easyjet gets set to fly from Doncaster

Christmas came early for Doncaster Sheffield Airport today (10th December) when easyJet, the largest UK airline, announced that it would be making the UK’s newest airport, their latest departure point, by taking off to five destinations from April 2010 onwards.
Senior representatives from Airport owners Peel Airports, Airport management and tourism officials from Welcome to Yorkshire, were joined by easyJet to make the announcement, who brought in one of their new Airbus A319 aircraft to the Airport, especially for the occasion. Even Santa made a guest appearance bringing presents in the shape of new services from the Airport for next year.
easyJet will operate some 21 departures per week from the South Yorkshire Airport and expects to carry around 300,000 on the five routes in their first year of operation, making it the largest low-fares airline to operate from the Airport. The services to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Faro, Palma and Prague, will bring mix of City break opportunities and sunshine destinations.
