The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) in India is planning to open a tourism representative office in Oman. This was revealed at the ‘Incredible India’ tourism road show organised by MoT in association with the Embassy of India, Oman in Muscat.
“Progress in infrastructure, accessibility and connectivity, professionally trained human resources and a range of tourist products have helped tourism grow in volume and value,” J S Mukul, Ambassador of India in Oman was quoted as saying by the Times of Oman.
The number of first time Omani visitors to India reached 42,208 in 2011 and was 39,781 in the first nine months of 2012, registering a 20% increase tourist movement.
