Sofitel Saigon Plaza has will unveil its newly renovated rooms this month.
Created by French interior designer, Pierre Maciag, the new rooms combine traditional Vietnamese design with contemporary French furnishings, along with floor-to-ceiling windows and several new brand concepts.
The Sofitel ‘MyBed’ features a new pillow menu, while a new minibar has been designed to reflect traditional dim sum steam baskets. Rooms also come equipped with large walk-in wardrobes, Illy espresso machines, 40-inch flat screen televisions, DVD players and high-speed internet access.
Bathrooms come with rain showers and separate bathtubs in the Prestige Suites.
“With the completion of our newly renovated rooms and suites, we look forward to providing guests with even better service and comfort,” said the hotel’s GM, Bertrand Courtois. “Besides the advantage of our ideal location in the heart of Saigon’s central business district, now we are very proud of thorough renovation which now puts us in a different league from other hotels in the vicinity.”
Each room also features a colonial-style chairs and bird cages – a traditional Vietnamese symbol of prosperity.
“The shared heritage between France and Vietnam was the core inspiration for my design. We have selected strong, exotic elements from both the French and Vietnamese cultures and incorporated them to enhance the visual impact and identity in every room and suite,” explained Pierre Maciag.
