IndiGo is exploring the possibility of offering lounge experience to domestic passengers.
The low-cost carrier is planning to offer passenger for a small fee the option of using lounges at airports in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru airports. The flyers will have to pay around INR600 to use these facilities at the three airports, while the service could be availed from two hours before the flights departure from the airport.
IndiGo confirmed it was exploring the possibility, reported the Business Standard. The airline currently offers lounge services to passengers travelling on international flights from Delhi.
The move comes after the Civil Aviation Ministry allowed airlines to unbundle services and charge separately. Apart from charging for preferred seats, the ministry has also allowed airlines to offer passenger lounge facilities for a fee.
