A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight made an unscheduled landing in Kolkata last night after receiving a mid-flight bomb threat. The SIA flight carrying 250 passengers and 15 crew was en route to Singapore from Houston via Moscow when the call was made. According the Times of India, the pilot was denied permission to land at Delhi and routed to Kolkata instead as all unscheduled stopovers had been disallowed in light of the Delhi security crackdown during the CWG. On landing, the plane was guided to an isolated bay, passengers were evacuated and a bomb disposal team was deployed to search the vessel, though nothing has yet been reported.
