Marginal gains for BA Asian routes

British Airways’ routes to Asia and the Middle East saw a slight upturn in demand in October, compared to the same month last year. The UK national carrier saw a 0.6% rise in demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), on a 1.7% cut in capacity. This allowed load factors on BA’s Asian routes to rise 1.7 points to 75.6%. Overall, BA’s global traffic increased 3.9% year-on-year in October 2010, on a 5.2% increase in capacity.
