As Gujarat pushes development of its tourism sector, several development projects are in the pipeline which will revitalise the state’s image.
The city of Surat, which has emerged as a centre for the diamond trade, will witness the establishment of a seven-star luxury hotel after the Gujarat Government signed an agreement with a private hotelier on a project which will cost INR270 crore.
The state government is working hard to promote this city as a hospitality and entertainment centre.
State officials told PTI; “The hospitality sector in Surat is all set to boom in the next couple of years with Rs 17059 crore worth of MOUs signed for 48 hotels and other facilities like a Film City, restaurants and golf club.”
Agreements have also been signed with Mumbai-based Atlanta Ltd on a luxury beach resort and star hotel worth INR 9,500 crore, while Trans Globe Infrastructure will develop a mega tourism park worth INR2,100 crore.
The company is also planning to set up a Film City Studio with a dancing, grooming and acting academy and a five-star hotel and spa.
