Night operations at Gaya International Airport have been suspended following the theft of the lighting systems on nearly half a dozen hillocks in the vicinity. The stolen lighting systems were installed as the airport needs extra security in view of its importance as a foreign tourist destination, according to the Times of India. Confirming the theft of the lighting system, the airport’s Director, SK Biswas said that night operations has now been suspended. The local administration was informed about the theft but no positive response has been received, leaving the airport authorities with no option other than to suspend the night flights.
