SQ reported it carried a record 18.3 million passengers in 2006-07 financial year, representing a 7.9% increase compared to the previous year.
During the year, the airline received nine Boeing 777-300ERs, and de-commissioned five Boeing 747-400s. SQ saw a 7.7% growth for the carriage of passengers (revenue passenger kms), against capacity growth (available seat kms) of 2.8%, resulting in an increase to 79.2% passenger load factor for the full year.
SQ’s operating fleet as at 31 Mar 07 comprises of 94 passenger aircraft and by Mar 08 the airline says it expects to take delivery of three Airbus A380-800s and five Boeing 777-300ERs. For the same financial year period, SIA Cargo reported a load factor drop of 1.6 percentage points to 62%.
MEANWHILE, the airline has unveiled the livery of its first Airbus A380, with another 19 of the aircraft on firm order.
