Gujarat Tourism has announced it will offer accreditation and more support for private tour operators and hotel developers looking to offer holidays in the region.
Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) will offer the support to India-based companies looking to develop tourism in the region, where they will be certified operators.
TCGL will also be offering an online booking facility for private hotels registered with the firm.
In the year 2013-14 the region saw a 13.3% increase in tourists, with the number of domestic visitors higher than international.
Speaking in Mumbai recently, Shri Kamlesh Patel, chairman of TCGL said: “We will continue to aggressively market Gujarat as a tourist destination in India as well as abroad. To further strength our efforts in this direction we have introduced a public private partnership model whereby various tour operators both from within and outside of Gujarat can register with TCGL through its website. Not only this, but the private operators can also now showcase their own packages on the Gujarat Tourism website which will be offered to the tourists looking at visiting Gujarat.”
TCGL managing director Shri Sanjay Kaul added: “This will help us to reach out to more number of potential tourists and also help the operators in availing timely information and facilities from TCGL.”
New industrial tours for students have also been launched which will be conducted at the Amul Dairy in Anand; Gujarat State Fertiliser Corporation in Vododara; General Motors at Halol and Solar Park at Patan.
