Air China will double the number of flights it operates between Beijing and London next month.
In October 2014, the carrier will add a second daily service to London Heathrow Airport. The new flight will depart Beijing’s Capital International Airport at 1430 and arrive at Heathrow at 1750. The return service will then leave the UK capital at 2025, getting back into Beijing at 1445 the next day.
This will complement Air China’s existing daily London flight which departs Beijing at 1230, and the return leg which leaves London at 1740.
Both these flights will now be operated using Air China’s new two-class Airbus A330-200 which has a capacity of 301 passengers. This includes 30 flat bed seats in business class and 271 seats in economy, all of which have seat-back in-flight entertainment systems and power sockets.
“The newly added flights will further promote the exchanges between China and the United Kingdom and offer more flight options to travellers to other European cities,” Air China said in a statement. “[The schedules] to take into consideration the needs of travellers who depart from Asia-Pacific regions like Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea and connect in Beijing onto flights to Europe.”
Air China now operates more than 100 weekly flights between China and Europe, serving 20 European cities direct from Beijing, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Moscow and Madrid. .
