This issue is being tackled at the Association of Corporate TravelExecutive’s (ACTE) Asia-Pacific conference next week (22-23 August) in Singapore.
“Airport infrastructure, airline growth, and support services aregrowing at rates different to each other, and slower than demand,” saidACTE’s Executive Director Susan Gurley. “Consequently, the potential fordelays and cancellations increases exponentially.”
ACTE said productivity suffers, along with the cost, in the context of”down time” of the executive stuck at airports.
The session will hear views from academic Associate Professor AnthonyChin from the National University of Singapore and Mayur Patel, Manager,Passenger Services, International Air Transport Association.
The conference will also look at issues such as finding and deployingtalent; Corporate Social Responsibility within the travel industry; and educatingpersonnel on global business skills.
“These topics are especially pertinent to the Asia-Pacific region, where business travel departments are experiencing rapid growth in a volatileeconomy,” said Gurley.
“Our goal is to assist the industry in staffing its requirements, providing personnel with effective strategies, and do so in a manner thatprotects the environment.”
The ACTE conference will also feature a keynote presentation by MurrayHogarth, a leading environmentalist, who will speak on Climate Control - ReduceCO2 Emissions Now
