RUUD HULSCHER has become Outrigger Resorts’ new general manager of operations. Hulscher moves to the company’s Phuket head office from the Outrigger on Phi Phi Island, where he served as general manager. He has also previously worked in Mauritius, the Maldives and Indonesia.
ERNST MAYER has been appointed general manager of the InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort and Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town – IHG‘s two properties in Lijiang, southwest China. Mayer joined IHG in 2012 to oversee the pre-opening of the Intercontinental Haitang Bay Sanya.
DORIS GOH has been promoted to the newly-created position of chief marketing officer at Alila Hotels & Resorts. Ms Goh has worked in sales and marketing positions for Alila since the brand’s inception. With a career spanning 20 years, she also spent nine years with Mandarin Oriental.
PATRICK PAHLKE has been appointed vice president of sales for Alila Hotels & Resorts. A German national and graduate of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland, Pahlke brings a wealth of experience to Alila, having worked in Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, the US, Malawi and Switzerland.
JANET M. CHAN has become the new director of sales & marketing at the Raffles Beijing Hotel. Ms Chan has been working in the hospitality industry for 10 years, including spells with Small Luxury Hotels of the World in Australia, Preferred Hotel Group in Cambodia and Vomo Island Resort in Fiji.
ERIN PROUD has been named as the Raffles Beijing Hotel’s new director of food & beverage. Ms Proud moves to the Chinese capital for the first time following five years at The Savoy London. Originally from Australia, she has also spent time working in Surfer’s Paradise, Queensland.
ALEX ODDY has been appointed senior chef de cuisine at Six Senses Yao Noi, Thailand. Chef Alex will now lead the culinary team at the resort’s organic Dining Room restaurant. Originally from Australia, he has been in Thailand for more than three years and specialises in sustainable organic cuisine.
