Q) How has Pullman Bangkok Hotel G coped with the 2014 downturn in travel to Bangkok, and are you starting to see a rebound?
I think the work that the sales and marketing teams put in last year has really paid off, a diverse market mix approach and maintaining close relations with the customers is really key for us.
We are continuing to be proactive in our key feeder markets and ensuring that we double our efforts in terms of sales trips and events.
Q) What are your main guest source markets, and are you seeing a rise in demand from Asia’s emerging markets, like China and India?
We have seen strong growth from China which has been linked to our sales efforts and commitments that have been put in place in China and we hope to develop this even further moving especially the FIT business to match the Group business.
Its apparent to us that many Chinese love the location of our hotel and the cutting-edge design inspired concepts on offer. We are currently looking at the India market in fact we have recently seen some business group enquiries coming through which is exciting for us.
Q) Pullman Bangkok Hotel G has a modern, design-led concept; does this mean you attract a larger number of so-called “millennial” travellers?
The hotel is enjoyed by all ages, lifestyle, and various countries of origins so I would not just the millennial travellers but more the global professional travellers that come to stay.
Our in-vogue food & beverage concepts such as 25 Degrees and Scarlett is certainly captivating a lot of attention even from guests that are not staying at our hotel but here in Bangkok that come to experience the destination outlets.
I don’t think it’s just about design. I think it’s about the attitude and service approach the associates have too that attracts customers and particular are very loyal and regular customers.
Q) And if so, how do you cater for this younger guest demographic?
We have a great mix of associates working at the Pullman Bangkok hotel G with an amazing variety of backgrounds and experiences dedicated to all customers’ needs.
We regular meet to discuss what trends are going on in the world of hotels and always on the lookout for new innovative ways to surprise and delight our guests but we tend to always come back to the key basics of sincere hospitality and service with a genuine Thailand smile.
Q) What further developments can we expect from Pullman Bangkok Hotel G in 2015?
We are working on a number of projects but I really can’t tell those secrets today you will have to wait and see but rest assured we are working on some cool developments to further enhance our positioning as one of the leading upscale hotels in the region.
