Morocco is fast witnessing an increase in travellers from the Gulf.
Stephan Killinger, tourism expert and president of Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort said that Morocco is increasingly targeting affluent visitors from the Gulf, despite the fact that Europe still remains a major source of inbound tourists.
Killinger further added that Morocco has received another shot in the arm with UAE recently increasing its flights into Morocco, in response to a strong demand for costal destinations outside the GCC.
“The unrest in some Middle East countries and stronger collaboration between GCC states and Morocco has prompted many Gulf nationals to choose Morocco as an alternative for leisure trips,” says Killinger. “The fact that many GCC families prefer to visit an Arab country rather than a foreign destination will go a long way in taking Morocco closer to its goal of having 12.7 million inbound tourists by 2018.”
Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort offers 500 rooms with views of the ocean, lagoons and golf course, along with 67 villas. The property also includes a golf course, beach and restaurants.
