KFIA passenger traffic increases by 14.2%

King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) recently announced that total number of airlines operating in the airport reached 36 in total.
Among them are three European airlines – Lufthansa’s Dammam/Frankfurt flight, KLM’s Dammam/Amsterdam flight, and Turkish Airline’s Dammam/Istanbul flight and Dammam/Sabiha flight.
As per statistics, the airport welcomed five million travellers in the first half of 2015, a 14.2% increase compared to last year. Also during the first half of 2015, number of flights increased by 7.5% compared to last year, while number of destinations increased to 57, consisting of 44 international destinations and 13 local ones.
Continuing its development, KFIA has installed 10 interactive e-guide machines. The e-guide also contains a survey to assess travelers’ satisfaction.
Eng Yousef Al-Zaheri, director of KFIA said: “GACA is working on implementing several future projects in the airport. In 2016, we will have additional first and business class passenger hall, the first ever mini-market, long-term car parking, gas station, and a five-star hotel next to the airport. Also, KFIA is undergoing other development activities such as providing 5,500 seats to be allocated in all the passenger halls and renovating the rest rooms.”
