Budget airlines started flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur last Friday, ending 30 years of near monopoly of the route by Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airlines.

Malaysia-based Air Asia flies twice daily from Kuala Lumpur while Singapore-based Tiger Airways and Jetstar Asia fly a daily service each from Singapore.
