Artyzen Hospitality Group (AHG), which is owned by Hong Kong conglomerate Shun Tak Holdings, has signed two more hotels in Shanghai.
Following the 2015 signing of Artyzen Habitat and citizenM Hotels at the Hongqiao Shanghai MIXC development, AHG has now unveiled plans for Shanghai’s first upscale Artyzen Hotels & Resorts-branded hotel and a second Artyzen Habitat.
Co-located in the Lingang New City development, the two new-build properties are both scheduled to open in 2021. Facing Dishui Lake and connected to Shanghai Metro’s Line 16, the two hotels will form part of a mixed-use development consisting of a convention centre, retail space, serviced apartments and numerous F&B outlets.
“The signing of Artyzen Hotels & Resorts and Artyzen Habitat in Lingang New City is a milestone for the group – it marks the debut of our upscale brand, Artyzen Hotels & Resorts,” said Robbert van der Maas, president of AHG. “The Lingang location is rich with undiscovered local culture and history. In the early days it was a traditional fishing village and port for the salt trade. This intriguing heritage will be celebrated in our hotels and shared with our guests.”
Artyzen Hotels & Resorts is AHG’s high-end lifestyle hotel concept which aims to focus on the local culture of the destination. The Lingang New City hotel will have approximately 300 keys.
Artyzen Habitat meanwhile, is designed for a “new generation of travellers”, according to AHG, with a “home-like environment and… social spaces”. The new Shanghai property will feature approximately 350 units.
As well as Artyzen and Artyzen Habitat, AHG operates the citizenM and Zitan hotel brands.
