Dalian Airlines, which is based in northeast China’s Liaoning province, has been given the green light to launch international flights.
The airline, which is part-owned by Air China, has had its Air Operator’s Certificate upgraded, enabling it to launch flights from its home base at Dalian’s Zhoushuizi International Airport to nearby Asian countries, including Japan and South Korea.
The new flights will be enabled by the delivery of two more Boeing 737 aircraft this year, taking its fleet size to 10 jets.
Dalian Airlines launched its first passenger flight in December 2011 and currently operates 12 routes to 30 Chinese cities. It plans to build a fleet of 20 aircraft by end of 2020.
