Thailand’s Minor Hotels has unveiled its first ever Avani-branded property in the Middle East.
Effective 1 July 2016, the company will take over the management of the 216-room Mövenpick Hotel Deira in Dubai, which will be rebranded as the Avani Deira Dubai Hotel.
Located 4km from Dubai International Airport, the upscale hotel offers 216 rooms, two restaurants, meeting rooms, an outdoor pool and a gym.
“This key acquisition to our portfolio allows Minor Hotels to take a strategic foothold in the Middle East for our fast expanding Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in what is a vitally important market,” said Robert Kunkler, chief operating officer of Minor Hotels.
Minor launched the Avani brand in 2011 and has since expanded it to 13 properties in 10 countries across Asia and Africa.
