Tibetans storm Chinese town
More than 1,000 Tibetans, some on horseback, have charged into a remote Chinese town, attacking a government building and hoisting their national flag, AFP reported.
It quoted Canadian TV (CTV) capturing footage of the mounted Tibetans, “demanding an independent Tibet”.
The report said a crowd of Tibetans attacked a government building in the town but was repelled by about 100 heavily armed soldiers using tear gas.
AFP said there has been little footage from Tibet where the authorities have clamped down on foreign reporting.
