For check-in and check-out at hotels, hotels have been told to spend no more than five minutes in completing the procedures. It should be no more than 20 minutes for groups of less than 30 people, China Hospitality News quoted Director of BTA Zhang Huiguang as saying.
For guests’ luggage, Zhang was quoted saying that hotels should send the guests’ luggage to their rooms within 10 minutes after their check-in and pick their luggage to the lobby within minutes after their check-out.
For telephone service, Zhang has asked that hotels of three-star grade or above must have a telephone exchange with a full-time operator. Zhang was quoted saying that each telephone of the hotel should be answered within 10 seconds after the first ring.
For dining service, all star-grade hotels and restaurants have been asked to provide a menu with prices in at least two languages.
