Participants of the Malaysian Association of Tours and Travel Agents (MATTA) exhibition have been urged to promote domestic tourism instead of foreign destinations.
Tourism Minister Azalina Othman Said said she had criticised MATTA several months ago for not focusing on domestic tourism and hoped it would do so at its exhibition next year.
“If more Malaysians spend their holidays in the country instead of overseas our economy will grow,” she had told reporters.
