Two mockingbirds, which are said to have helped Charles Darwin develop his theory on evolution, are to go on public display for the first time. The BBC reported that the specimens, gathered by Darwin from the Galapagos, are said to be the “catalyst” for his evolutionary theories of how one species changes into another.
The birds will go on show at London’s Natural History Museum next week as part of the Darwin200 programme of events and exhibitions to mark the 200th anniversary of the his birth.
