An Italian man trying to row solo across the Pacific Ocean had tom be rescued just 120km short of reaching his goal, the BBC has reported. Alex Bellini had been at sea since leaving Peru in February, but was forced to call for help just 60 nautical miles from reaching Australia as storms battered his boat. He had rowed 18,000km and was reported to be ‘near exhaustion’.
