Virgin Blue, Expedia tie-up long-term deal

Expedia has a long term global agreementwith Virgin Blue and its new international airline, V-Australia, the Centre forAsia Pacific Aviation has reported. The deal marks Expedia’s first globalairline agreement in Australia,and the first global distribution agreement for either airline with an onlinetravel company.
Under the agreement, Virgin Blue and V-Australia flightswill be available to customers on all Expedia-branded sites worldwide,including Expedia.com.au in Australiaand Expedia.com in the US,and on USdiscount travel site, Hotwire. The flights will also be available to businesstravellers through travel management leader Egencia, which launched itsfull-service corporate travel offering in Australia last year. The agreementalso provides marketing exposure for Virgin Blue and V Australia throughExpedia Media Solutions, the advertising sales division of Expedia, Inc.
Vice President of Expedia Partner Services Group – AsiaPacific, Cyril Ranque, was reported saying; “We’re pleased to be a part of theinternational growth strategies of Virgin Blue and V-Australia. Working withthese airlines gives Expedia the chance to experience firsthand the innovativecharacter of the Virgin brand, which they demonstrate in both their approach toair travel, and in how they market their flights to travellers.”
