Vietnam’s tourism authority is planning to allow foreign travellers to get visas at international border gates, as a way to attract more international visitors to the country.
Vu The Binh, Head of the Travel Department of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, told Vietnam Net Bridge that foreign tourists would be able to obtain visas at international border gates in the coming months.
However, the customs department needs well-prepared processes as well as an information technology system to allow foreign travellers to enter the country. The tourism agency and other related departments will develop the procedures which are not in place as yet.
