Erosion threatens seven Goa beaches

Seven of Goa’s beaches are facing erosion from the sea, the state government has said. According to a Times of India report 11.2km of beaches in the north and south of the state have been severely affected by sea erosion. The once wide Candolim beach has practically disappeared, the report stated, while other areas affected include Coco Beach at Nerul, as well as stretches at Agonda and Palolem.
