Air India to open aviation academy

Air India (AI) is considering plans to open a state-of-art Aviation Training Academy in Shillong, Meghalaya, while promoting the hill state as a major tourist destination. According to a Hindustan Times report, the national carrier’s Chairman and Managing Director, Arvind Jadhav, met with the state’s Chief Minister, DD Lapang, last week to discuss the project, which would also include AI launching flights between Shillong and Kolkata.
