Bangkok’s Don Meuang airport will be closed and all remaining domestic flights moved to Suvarnabhumi airport, Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) has said. The long-touted switch will mean that local carriers, Nok Air and Orient Thai, will move their operations away from the north Bangkok hub in April 2010. Don Mueang is now likely to be turned into an aircraft maintenance centre.
