ATM goes hunting for the next apprentice

Arabian Travel Market, in conjunction with hotel group, Millennium & Copthorne Middle East, is offering three ‘apprenticeships’ in a once-in-a-lifetime, fast-track career opportunity.Aspiring hotel professionals will have the choice of applying for one of three separate positions in human resources, sales and marketing and a management trainee, with each position carrying its own series of tasks to complete. “The winning candidate for each position will be chosen based on flair, competency and above all commitment to live up to the Millennium & Copthorne brand values,” said Chris Watson, regional head of Human Resources, Middle East & Africa, Millennium & Copthorne Middle East Holdings.Initially, all candidates must register for the programme by submitting their CV through a dedicated section on the Arabian Travel Market website. In total there are three stages to each position, and the first written task is to be completed when submitting their CVs.Once entries have closed, candidates will receive an email from Millennium to confirm whether they have successfully made it through to stage two of the ATM Apprentice including the second task. To both inspire and prepare each candidate, a brief summary of the respective roles is also available to all candidates. The key areas of the sales manager’s position, involves, achieving personal sales targets and contributing to the overall team goals as stated in the annual marketing plan.The Hotel management trainee role is to assist and learn key skills in all the different departments in a hotel and help them in their daily operations, thereby contributing to the overall operational competence by completing the relevant duties as assigned. Under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources, the assistant human resources manager, is responsible for carrying out all transactions related to employee accommodation, transport and visa issues required to support the team member’s life cycle with the Human Resources Department.
