Macau hits two million arrivals in January

Visitor arrivals to Macau reached 2.08 million in January, up 1.4% year-on-year, according to data released this week by the city’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). The number of visitors from mainland China increased 7.9% year-on-year to 1.22 million, accounting for 58.8% of the total. The number of visitors from South Korea surged 39% to 42,130, but there was a decline in the amount of arrivals from Hong Kong (-2.8% to 529,620) and Taiwan (-20.4% to 92,120).
