Corporate Applications Services Director- Americas
Purpose
The purpose of the Corporate Applications Services Director’s role:
A key component of this role is product management for the D365 and RDX products. This role is responsible for ensuring that the products support the company’s overall strategy and goals. This role is ultimately responsible for managing the product throughout its lifecycle and the many changing iterations.
Effective deployments for enhancements and fixes for two business critical corporate applications: Corporate RDX (an in-house built point of sale application) & Microsoft D365
Assessing the integration requirements of peripheral applications and projects impacting the SME & FCM Businesses
Management and development of individuals within the Team
 
Responsibilities
Applications Product Management – 30%
Engage with internal stakeholders to establish 6month/1year/3year roadmap applications
Work directly with Development team to prioritize requests and ensure they meet future vision of products
Stay current on new offerings for products and share with stakeholder as appropriate
Vendor mgmt. – Manage vendor relationships with key partners, and service providers (ATI, inTWO, Genisys, TravelOps)
Provide data and reporting of trends to relevant departments in ad-hoc, weekly or monthly updates
Applications Project Management – 25%
Manage overall prioritizations between production defects, new requirements, change requests, enhancements, and new products/projects requesting integration
Define, document, and implement version release cycle processes ensuring realistic quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained
Coordinate the testing and implementation of new enhancements and defect fixes for production systems
Monitor and control costs and resources, managing expectations to stakeholders
Team Management – 20%
Manage and support the day-to-day activities of the Applications Services team, providing guidance, direction, and support
Develop and mentor team members conducting one on ones, providing career development support
Create and deliver Team objectives and key results (OKRs)
Manage and approve timecards and vacation, balancing resource needs of the business and release cycles
Change Management & Communication – 25%
Manage the release of enhancements to applications, including change readiness planning, impact assessments, training, go live and post go live assessments
Coordination and maintenance for ongoing updates to systems manuals and related documentation
Advise management on situations that may require additional support or escalation
Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders and end-users
Promote automation, process improvements, and use of applications where relevant, bringing order to complex situations and keeps focus on business objectives
Works with senior leaders responsible, to ensure maximum improvements are made in the business operations, as groups of projects deliver products into operational use
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years prior experience leading and managing a team
3+ years prior experience Product Management
Strong product management skills with experience organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing requests from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and third-party contractors
Excellent analytical ability, strong judgement skills, supervisory skills, and organizational skills
Excellent relationship builder with all levels of the organization (end-users, team members, functional leads, business leaders, senior management), and ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical business colleagues
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint)
Experience working in a highly dynamic and challenging environment
Extensive travel industry knowledge and experience across all key disciplines including but not limited to operations, online, reporting, project management, IT management.
Experience using and supporting complex architecture environments consisting of custom applications
Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, learn quickly and adapt to change
Strong and collaborative work ethic; team oriented; high integrity
Passion and demonstrated ability for continuous process improvement
Extensive experience with an understanding of front, mid and back-office travel and its related systems
Drive and demonstrated success working independently in a virtual environment
 
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Proficient working knowledge of GDS applications
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations
Good working knowledge and experience with database applications and system infrastructure and architecture
Experience working with AzureDevOps
Experience working in an Agile Development environment
Attention to detail and pride in well-presented and accurate work
Flexibility to travel as required to regional/team member locations
