AMEX, THAI celebrate 4th anniversary of partnership

Bangkok, 9 June 2010 - American Express (Thai) Co., Limited together with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) are celebrating the 4th Anniversary of the Thai American Express Platinum Credit Card and 50 years of THAI.
To celebrate, the two companies are holding an exclusive party at Radisson Hotel Sathorn. They will also announce the introduction of a continuing marketing campaign for Cardmembers throughout the year to reinforce the Card’s leading position in the travel and credit card industry.
Vice President of Consumer Card, American Express (Thai) Co., Ltd. Anakkawat Kowathanakul says: “The THAI American Express Platinum Credit Card was launched in May 1996 and throughout the last four years, the Card has been warmly welcomed in the market, with our Cardmembers travelling an average of 10 times a year.

As it is also the fastest way to earn Royal Orchid Plus miles and to redeem these miles for air ticket rewards, it is no wonder that our Cardmembers continue to spend with the Card.”

Cardmembers will get to see a Maserati car, preview the latest luggage collection from Mandarina Duck, indulge with a Hand Spa by La Prairie, and enjoy premium wine served all night by Italasia.
The highlight of this event is a session amongst 10 renown travelers who will regale the audience with their travel tales and memorable stories through 10 selected souvenirs displayed at the event. These will include a Murano glass set from Khun Sasamon Sanguansin’s trip to Venice, an antique candleholder from Khun Chitramontn Techapaiboon’s trip to England , a TAG HEUER watch that Dom Hetrakul received from a TAG HEUER launch event exclusively held for selected watch and sport car collectors in France.
In addition, American Express also joined hands with Trez Jewelry to hold a charity auction of four jewelry pieces, each individually designed by children. Proceeds from the auction after deducting expenses will be donated to World Vision Foundation of Thailand.
To maintain the momentum of celebration throughout the year, American Express is partnering THAI to launch a continuing marketing program, starting with a 10% bonus mile program for Cardmembers who convert their points on the THAI American Express Platinum Credit Cards for Royal Orchid Plus miles as of the month of May 2010 onwards.
There will also be a sweepstake campaign “Win 1,000,000 Miles and Fly to Your Dream Destinations” during the period May - August 2010 whereby both existing and new Cardmembers will receive a chance to win 1,000,000 Royal Orchid Plus miles and more than 100 other prizes worth a total of more than Baht 3,400,000.
Applicants who apply for the Card and get approval from May 1 through August 31, 2010 will receive 10 chances to win and one additional chance from every Baht 1,000 spend with the Card per transaction. Those who apply for the Card and get approval within June 2010 and spend more than Baht 100,000 using this Card within the first 3 months of Card membership will receive up to 15,000 BONUS Royal Orchid Plus miles.
