Ever been legless on a flight? Well one Virgin Atlantic passenger has taken the term a little too literally. An artificial limb was one of the more unusual items left behind by passengers last year, according to the airline. The prosthetic appendage was found after passengers had disembarked a New York-London service, but it was by no means the only odd discovery. Another flyer somehow managed to forget an urn containing someone’s ashes, while a writer misplaced their movie script. Meanwhile a group of Halloween revellers failed to remember they were carrying seven plastic pumpkins and witches’ broomsticks on a flight from Boston, and a cast member of Glee forgot his wheelchair.
It’s not entirely clear how the legless man managed to alight the plane without realising his limb was missing, but Virgin Atlantic said the passenger was later reunited with his body part.
