Indonesia’s Sky Aviation has signed an agreement with Russian aircraft manufacturer, Sukhoi to purchase 12 new jets. The deal, signed at the International Aviation & Space Salon event in Russia, will see Sky purchase 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft valued at US$379.2 million at list prices. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2012.
“PT Sky Aviation is a new airline successfully developing upcoming rout network of the Southeast Asia market,” said Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft. “[I have] no doubt that the operational capacity and superior performance of Sukhoi Superjet 100 will contribute to the dynamic development of the airline route network. And it will help SSJ100 to acquire confident position in the region,” he added.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the company’s brand new 100-seat regional jet. The first Superjet 100 was delivered to Armenia’s Armavia Airlines in April 2011.
