An international general aviation convention, now in its third year, is attracting hundreds of companies to northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. The event on 13-17 October will feature and aeronautics exhibition showcasing up to 100 aircraft and professional forums. Organizers say 100 companies have already confirmed their attendance and 200 more are expected to show up. Sun Anhui, Deputy Secretary General of Shaanxi Provincial Government, told Xihua that 25 contracts worth CNY4 billion (US$625 million) are expected to be penned at the show.
Shaanxi is home to one of China’s leading aircraft makers, AVIC Xi’an Aircraft Industry (Group) Corp, and the province is pushing to become an aviation centre within the country.
