Travel Mart turns spotlight on eco-tourism

The Thailand Travel Mart 2011Plus Amazing Gateway to Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM Plus 2011), which kicks off in Bangkok today, is turning the spotlight on Thailand and GMS’ emerging eco-tourism sector.The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s new “balanced strategy” is to be meticulously followed during the three-day event with a good mix of doing business sessions as well as a focus on environmental preservation under the theme of “Caring for the Earth”. Several activities will be organised during the Mart to promote green tourism, including the launch of Tourism Thailand’s 7 Greens website; the Green Tourism Forum for Buyers, which will focus on the implementation of Green Tourism in Thailand; while “Caring for the Earth” Tours will offer buyers and media discounts on green tourism products in Thailand.A further two discounted packages will be offered to participants keen to explore the Thai beach resorts of Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi.
