Air Charter Scotland has announced the relaunch of its Aberdeen-Wick route, with flights set to commence on 14 January. Tickets are now available for purchase, starting at $92.00 (£74.99) each way. The Glasgow-based airline has partnered with Navitaire’s World Ticketing GDS to facilitate online bookings. This move restores essential connectivity to the far north of Scotland, under a Public Service Obligation (PSO) route awarded by The Highland Council.
The service will operate using a BAe Jetstream 32 aircraft, with initial flights scheduled from Monday to Thursday at 08:00 from Wick to Aberdeen and 09:30 for the return journey. Friday flights will depart at 18:00 from Wick and 19:30 from Aberdeen, whilst Sunday services will run at 15:00 and 16:30, respectively.
Derek Thomson, COO of Air Charter Scotland, expressed enthusiasm for the new service, stating, “We are looking forward to starting this important air service for the people of Caithness. It is a major expansion for our successful on-demand air charter business.” The airline has wet leased the Jetstream 32 from AIS Airlines of the Netherlands and is seeking a second 18-seat aircraft to add to its UK Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
Air Charter Scotland, headquartered in Glasgow with bases in London and Malta, is Scotland's second oldest airline operator. The company, which began with Cessna 310 and Beech King Air 200 aircraft, expanded into executive jet operations in 2006. It remains committed to providing third-party charter services and is a member of the British Business and General Aviation Association and The Air Charter Association.
