Nevis to St. Kitts swim returns with Olympian Alice Dearing

The Nevis Tourism Authority has announced the return of the Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim, scheduled for 28 March 2026, featuring British Olympic open water swimmer Alice Dearing. The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley, tourism officials, and media representatives.

The 4.1-kilometre swim, crossing the Narrows between Nevis and St. Kitts, is the only internationally recognised swim of its kind between two Caribbean islands. It is a flagship event for Nevis, showcasing the island's natural beauty and promoting sports tourism. Alice Dearing, the first Black woman to represent Great Britain in Olympic swimming, expressed her excitement: “I love swims that feel like a real journey, and it doesn’t get more special than crossing between two islands in a place as beautiful as Nevis and St. Kitts.”

The event is part of Nevis’ strategic vision to position itself as a high-value destination for international sporting experiences. Andia Ravariere, CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority, highlighted the event's significance: “The Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim is more than a sporting event; it is a bold statement about where Nevis is headed.”

Registration for the swim is now open, inviting participants to experience the unique challenge and the island's charm. The event continues to grow in global recognition, drawing swimmers and their families from around the world.
