The organisation formerly known as PortsToronto has announced its return to the historic name of Toronto Port Authority, marking 115 years of service. This rebranding underscores its commitment to being a key economic driver and urban connector, particularly through its management of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Toronto's harbour.

The rebrand comes at a crucial time as the Toronto region experiences rapid growth, with Canada focusing on resilient supply chains and sustainable urban mobility. RJ Steenstra, President and CEO of the Toronto Port Authority, stated, "Reintroducing the Toronto Port Authority name is more than a rebrand—it's a powerful affirmation of our foundational purpose and our future vision."

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, a significant contributor to the region's economy, generates approximately $2 billion (US$2 billion) annually and supports over 4,500 jobs. The airport is set to introduce US Customs and Border Protection Preclearance in early 2026, enhancing bilateral trade. Meanwhile, the Port of Toronto contributes over $460 million (US$460 million) in economic activity, importing essential materials and reducing congestion by removing over 51,000 lorryloads from Greater Toronto Area roads annually.

The Toronto Port Authority's integrated assets, including the Outer Harbour Marina, position the city as a multimodal economic gateway.
