andBeyond Phinda Zuka Lodge reopens after refurbishment

andBeyond Phinda Zuka Lodge has reopened following a comprehensive refurbishment, welcoming guests since 18 December 2025. The lodge, located within the Phinda Private Game Reserve, has been redesigned to serve as a private safari retreat ideal for intimate gatherings and milestone celebrations. The refurbishment draws inspiration from the lodge's name, "dawn," and incorporates earthy tones, natural textures, and handcrafted African details.

The lodge's connection to its natural surroundings is further emphasised by its location in a part of the reserve known for its rare lineage of female leopards. The redesign prioritises local sourcing and regional craftsmanship, with each suite now featuring a private sala for relaxation between game drives. A new Family Suite has been introduced to accommodate multi-generational trips, whilst an open boma and firepit overlooking a landscaped waterhole provide a perfect setting for small gatherings and wildlife viewing.

Rates at the lodge start from $830 (ZAR 15,800) per person per night, inclusive of all meals, twice-daily private game drives, and guided walks. Guests can also take advantage of special offers such as "Stay 4, Pay 3" and "Fly Me to Phinda." The lodge's reopening marks a new chapter in its history, offering guests a unique blend of luxury and connection to nature.
