BA agrees pension cuts with union

British Airways and three trade unions have agreed to a plan to help the airline cut the GBP3.7 billion (US$5.6 billion) deficit in its two pension schemes. The BBC has reported that the unions, including Unite, which is currently arranging cabin crew strikes, have agreed that future pension entitlement one of the two schemes will build up at a reduced rate. The deal is separate to the current dispute with cabin crew.
