Amadeus is celebrating its tenth year of operation in Japan with the announcement of a new partnership agreement with JTB Corporate Solutions. It’s a solution provider company wholly owned by Japan’s largest travel agency, JTB.
Businesses in Japan which were previously only able to book domestic travel with JTB’s existing “J’s NAVI” system, will now also be able to book international travel with the partnership, which will see the Amadeus e-Travel Management online solution integrate seamlessly with “J’s NAVI.”
David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific, said, “Amadeus Japan has achieved amazing results over the past ten years. Japan has emerged as a very successful growth market for Amadeus.”
Miho Ohtake, General Manager for Amadeus Japan, has observed that changing trends in the Japanese market over the past ten years have driven the need for new technologies. “Efficient and secure travel reservation and IT systems are no longer needed only by airlines, but we have also seen growing demand from hotels, trains, ferries, rental car companies and travel insurers.”
