Qantas was forced to ground one of its Airbus A380s last night after a fuel leak, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. After an all night wait at London Heathrow Airport, passengers waiting for the flight to Melbourne were told that the leak could not be fixed.
The airline was forced to transfer passengers to a Boeing 747, which eventually took off nearly 13 hours after the scheduled departure time. Qantas apologised for the inconvenience.
It is the second incident involving Qantas’ A380s in five weeks, the newspaper reported, with another plane grounded at LAX on 19 January.
