Abacus, Asia’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, today announced its connected travel agents will gain access to reliable, secure and efficient ground travel and airport services in 500 airports and cities across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America as a result of a new partnership with Ground Asia.
Over 6.3 million travellers are expected to benefit from this partnership, with the highly-sort after personalised services including post-paid chauffeurs, fixed-price airport transfers and fast-track immigration assistance, to become available on Abacus’ network via Abacus eServices with immediate effect.
Research by Ground Asia estimates that 15.7 million Asian corporate and high-end leisure international fliers spend USD2.3 billion a year on ad hoc ground transfers (such as airport limos, private hire car, hotel limos or chauffeur drive) for their journeys to and/or from airports and around cities.
Abacus connected travel agents can now expect to be able to offer bookable ‘Flexible
Chauffeur Drive’, ‘Fixed Price Airport Transfer’ and ‘Fast-tracked Meet and Assist’ across the world, increasing their value-add to their customers.
Flexible Chauffeur Drive services include various classes of limousines, sedans and MPVs which are fully insured and licensed, and are driven by an English-speaking chauffeur. Fixed Price Airport Transfers give travellers peace of mind in that their on-ground travel needs are prearranged and they can look forward to travelling in a comfortable car, arriving at their destinations on time and safely. With Fast-tracked Meet and Assist, travellers’ waiting time in line-ups and processing are minimised as they are met at the aircraft door, whisked through fasttracked immigration, and taken direct to their waiting driver.
Mr. Brett Henry, Vice President, Marketing, Abacus International, said the partnership will greatly benefit business and frequent travellers, who like their arrangements in place prior to jetting off, with the confidence a driver will be waiting at the other end.
“Discerning travellers who book expensive hotels and premium air tickets also demand a reliable and seamless transfer service. Airports transfers are the most common service failure at foreign airports, and a source of stress and difficulty for travel bookers and travellers,” Mr.Henry said.
“Moreover, transfers are typically the most dangerous part of a foreign trip, as they often occur in an uninsured vehicle. Through our partnership with Ground Asia, travellers can be assured that they have a reliable provider to meet and safely escort them to their destination.”
According to Charles Pollard, CEO of Ground Asia, his group is delighted to be able to expand its reach through Abacus’ extensive network of travel agents.
“We are continually looking for ways to provide a greater number of travellers with a more pleasant and efficient travelling experience, and we are confident this partnership with Abacus will help achieve that goal,” Pollard said.
