Australian tour operator Abercrombie and Kent (A&K) are urging the travel industry to support the Earth Hour event next month.Earth Hour is the global initiative where businesses and homes are asked to switch off all non-essential lighting for an hour to make a ‘dramatic visual statement’ about climate change. On Saturday March 27 from 8.30-9.30pm Sydney time, A&K’s 62 offices and millions of other people will turn off their electricity and participate in stargazing parties. A&K will be holding their own event at the Wolgan Valley Resort, where guests will dine by candlelight. Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007 and now involves 4,000 cities in 88 countries who power down for an hour every year.
